  6. Well-LUG April 24 Club day activities

At our April club day we had the judging of our 1:1 scale competition.  The winning builds were an adjustable microscope with slide and light, an engagement ring, a mobile phone with brickbuilt box, charger and earphones and a Switch with removable controllers.
Following this we had a speed build Colab.  The group was split into four to build a forest, village, mountain and river in an hour.  The builds were then combined (briefly) before being broken down.

  8. 13 & 14-04-'24 - Bricktopia Landgraaf

Last weekend it finally became reality.

We were at the "Holly grounds" of Pinkpop.  🎵
2 days we would rule with our Lego show.
And boy we did ...got over run by people ,amazing what an interest.  🧑‍🤝‍🧑

  12. NCLUG March MOC Challenge - Create Your Own Battlepack!

For March, the LUG voted on the MOC challenge theme of creating your own battle pack!  These were our guidelines:
A battle pack doesn’t have to be around battling but is centered around 3-4 figs that have some sort of relation to each other, and a small set piece, be it a modest vehicle or a simple structure/immobile object.
-Let’s keep the piece count of the accompanying build to no more than 100 pieces.  This count doesn’t include fig pieces or accessories.
-Custom armor or helmets is ok.
-If you decide to do animals instead of figs, the ratio is 4 animals per fig 😂
-You can include 2 animals as part of the side build if wanted.

We had 19 entries this month, one of our most participated in challenges in a while!  Which is your favorite??

  14. Wenham Museum LEGO Train Display

Each year in February, and sometimes additionally in the fall, NELUG puts on a LEGO train and town display for a weekend. The small museum, which features historic toys and trains, benefits from additional traffic brought by this show. A smaller event, it's a favorite among NELUGers, and is a great way for newer members to learn the ropes.

  23. Carbonear Mall Display 2023

This was NewfoundLUG's first attempt at a static public display. We were fortunate enough to secure a vacant store front in the Trinity Conception Square mall in Carbonear, Newfoundland, for a month long display! The display was spearheaded by NewfoundLUG member Paul Dawe, who spent time at the display each day. Paul interacted and engaged tirelessly with kids, teens, and adults of all ages! Paul talked all things LEGO with the visitors and guests in the mall each day and even allowed passerby's a closer look at certain sets and MOCs, such as our Technic creations on display. Over 15 NewfoundLUG members contributed their MOCs and sets to this display throughout the month of December.

Overall, this was a successful public display. It promoted and introduced the hobby to fans of LEGO who are situated in a different geographical region within our province. A big "thank you" goes out to Paul, who made this possible! We certainly plan to do another display like this again in the near future.
