Q: Can you send me free LEGO sets so I can review them?

A: No. While some AFOL communities are provide advanced copies of LEGO sets for review, this service is reserved for communities that we officially Recognize. We do not have a process to send LEGO sets to unrecognized AFOL communities or content creators.

Q: What is the LEGO Ambassador Network?

A: While LEGO® bricks might remind you of your childhood there are an increasing number of adults that use the LEGO brick in their daily life in work and in play. This is not a new concept as the first “club” for adults has been actively meeting and building together for over 30 years!

Everyday, adults around the world use LEGO bricks as a creative medium. Some build at home with friends and family while others participate in an adult LEGO culture where you meet up and share your passion with other adults. If you are building and creating with LEGO bricks as an adult, you might not even realize it, you are an Adult Fan of LEGO (AFOL)!

The LEGO Group recognizes this fan base and has a department that engages with and represents adult fans. Members of the LEGO Group’s “AFOL Engagement” team help fan creations become real LEGO sets through LEGO Ideas, assist with finding opportunities for local community engagement, globally connect fans communities through a network of other fans communities, and provide a place to learn from LEGO fan communities from around the world.

On the LEGO Ambassador Network (LAN) you can Find a Group near you, Find Events to join around the world, and read the LAN Blog

We also officially recognize certain LEGO User Groups, LEGO Online Communities and LEGO Fan Media outlets and provide these communities additional support. Each recognized LEGO community also has a community Ambassador who has additional access to communicate directly with the AFOL Engagement Team and work with other community Ambassadors from around the world in the Forum.

While the Forum is "for Ambassadors only" the Rules, Guidelines and How to Apply to become a recognized community can all be found in the Visitor Section.

Q: What is "Recognition"?

A: "Recognition" or being "Recognized" is the term used for the select AFOL communities that are officially represented on the LEGO Ambassador Network where they directly engage and collaborate with other AFOL communities and the LEGO Group itself.

While there are thousands of active and engaged AFOL communities around the world there, there are a limited number of communities that can be officially Recognized.

Q: How do I find a Recognized LEGO Fan Community near me?

A: You’ve come to the right place, you can search all the recognized communities right here on the LEGO Ambassador Network, just click the Find A Group and you can search and filter to your preference and location.

Don't see a group near you? There are also Recognized LEGO Online Communities (RLOC) that do most meet-ups, collaborations, and events virtually. There are even RLOCs with specific passions including Trains, BIONICLE, Star Wars, and Technic!

Q: How does an AFOL community apply for Recognition?

A: Before an AFOL Community applies, it is important to first review the LAN Program Rules and Guidelines as well as have a good understanding of the purpose of the LAN.

A representative of an AFOL community can then apply for Recognition online here.

Q: What is a Community Ambassador?

A: Since there can be hundreds or even thousands of AFOLs in a Recognized AFOL Community, there is a need for a point person/spokesperson to represents each AFOL community. This position is called Community Ambassador or just Ambassador. The Community Ambassador will then share relevant information both to and from the LAN.

The Community Ambassador represents their individual AFOL Community and does not represent the LEGO Group. Each AFOL Community is responsible for determining who their Ambassador will be and establish their own rules around possible term limits.

For additional thoughts on the Community Ambassador role, please read this LAN Blog post:
