  • The AWESOME Building Buddies Competition!

    Sara S

LEGO.com is hosting a new LEGO Movie 2 Building Contest for builders of all ages.

Do you and your best building buddy want to see your awesome design in the end of The LEGO® MOVIE 2™?

Emmet and his brick friends are back in the most awesome movie sequel in Bricksburg history! And they need YOUR help to make THE LEGO® MOVIE 2™ even more awesome - to the end and beyond!

    [TMN1] How to enter

    1.      Team up with your best building buddy - a friend, parent, brother or sister, pen pal, pet – you get the picture!

    2.      Build a LEGO creation that combines your two most favorite things in the world. Broccoli and cookies? A dragon and a butterfly? What will it be?

    3.      Take a picture of yourselves with your awesome creation.

    4.      Go to LEGO.com/the-lego-movie-2/competition and have a parent for each building buddy download, print and sign the submission form – then send the form along with your picture to the e-mail found on the page.

Make sure you send your entry before July 31st. You could make the end credits of the movie come to life with your awesomely creative design!

Just out of curiosity, why will models that combine LEGO and Duplo pieces be rejected?

Major bummer: the contest is closed to residents in Portugal. :( Do you have a reason for that?

@Sara Skahill, one question that came up from our community that I didn't see an answer for in the rules. According to the rules, you can team up with a pen pal as your building buddy, but the requirement is to put both people and their creation in the same photo. This is impossible if you are working with a pen pal without photoshopping both people and their creation in the same image. What would you suggest in situations like this?

    Hi everyone,

Sorry for the delay, as this is a contest hosted outside of our department I had to ask the contest manager.

We would like to keep the 2 building systems separated for this competition but that they’re of course very welcome to submit both a DUPLO and a LEGO system model. Hope that makes sense :)

I've asked the team and they are double checking with legal to find out exactly why!

Unfortunately it was due to a lack of resources to support the contest in Portuguese, sorry.

We didn’t receive an email confirmation that our entry was received. Is there anyway to track that? We had some trouble with sending the email and just wanted to be sure. Thanks!

The rules talks about a "Submission from" but I can only find the "Parental Consent form". Should we just use that if both contestants are adults, or Am I missing a file I'm not finding? Thank you!
