  1. We Finally Finished 75252!! Completed after 3 weeks of hard work. Last Step is similar to 76023. We think 75252 is stronger than 10030. Look at that beautiful figure.
  2. On May the 4th the animation department at the Buenos Aires University of Cinema celebrated the Star Wars Day with a great event that included an open Stop Motion Master Class. The many attendants were able to experiment hands-on with basic animation techniques in an easy way using LEGO bricks. They practice with a pixel-art-like walking cycle, intuitive free-animation lightsaber duels and a huge LEGO diorama of Tatooine where everyone was able to make the minifigs come to life. This way, the LEGO Bricks were used as a way to teach the art of hand-craft animation, to celebrate the legendary StarWars saga and to spread lots of fun.

Our group has participated in this for years, and we will have 4 extra large museum quality boxes to display BIG LEGO creations! Many other groups, like the Stormtroopers will be there. There is usally quite a bit of food and drinks given out. COME ONE, COME ALL!
  4. Past Friday we welcomed 60 AFOLs from 14 different countries to the LEGO House Fan Evening around the 20 years anniversary of LEGO Star Wars. I asked my colleague Kim Thomsen to be the host as he is a true LEGO Star Wars expert and we built a great program with a mix of interviews (James Burns from Jedi News, Morten Sonne who is a long time LEGO Star Wars Fan and MOC builder and of course Jens Kronvold and Kurt Kristiansen representing the LEGO Star Wars Design Team) as well as some building fun and a LEGO Star Wars themed prize draw. We also had guest from the Danish Garrison of the 501st Legion who helped to "guard" the activity. The evening went very fast and all networked, asked their questions and learned a lot as well as had a great time together. Thank you very much to all participants and colleagues. I hope to see you soon in LEGO House.

  7. The empire is strong in Queensland, Australia! No less than 9 times have Stormtroopers invaded Dreamworld, a theme-park on Australia's Gold Coast, just south of Brisbane. Once a year since 2010, Australian members of the 501st Legion, LucasFilm's preferred global fan-based costume group entirely devoted to the Star Wars universe, have gathered there to raise funds for charities, give visitors a great experience, and not least have a great time doing it all. BrisBricks, a recognised LEGO User Group based in and around Brisbane, have attended since 2014. We have supplemented the dressed-up Star Wars characters with Star Wars themed LEGO displays. On June 23-24 it was the 9th time the event ran. As usual the event attracted thousands of visitors in the otherwise quiet Southern hemisphere winter season. The event originally coincided with the international Star Wars day “May the fourth (be with you)". However, as it rarely coincided with weekends, the reference to May the fourth has been increasingly inaccurate: firstly being moved to a weekend near that date, then a weekend later in May, and this year it was the end of June. Hence, it has recently simply been known as the Stormtrooper Weekend. For visitors, this is two days of Star Wars fun, with heaps of Star Wars characters roaming the theme-park, and a huge parade every day. There is also the opportunity for kids to join the Jedi academy to learn some cool lightsabre moves and use these against the Sith. BrisBricks had it largest presence ever with 10 tables of displays. These covered Ultimate Collector Series sets, a huge Star Wars minifig collection, smaller dioramas and larger displays covering the Battle of Endor and Watto’s junk yard at Tatooine. The newly released rollercoaster also featured in a theme-park display, appropriately converted to the Star Wars theme. Overall, there was something for all ages and interests. There was also a play area next to the displays. For BrisBricks it has been a great way to engage with LEGO fans across South East Queensland. Since its start in 2010, the event has continued to grow. For years, it has been the largest annual gathering of 501st members in the Southern hemisphere. This year 350 members attended from across Australia, New Zealand and Singapore. Some years have had attendees from US and Europe too. Steven Kocsis, a long term member of both 501st and BrisBricks, says “For 501st, the Stormtrooper Weekend is by far the event most members have been looking forward to. It is great catching up with members from local to around the world and have some fun together, as when the Scout troopers go on the Motorcoaster rollercoaster together in full outfits. Saturday night we have our “Mixer” social night and Sunday after the event, a trade night for everything related to 501st and Star Wars in general.” This year 501st were raising money for TLC for Kids, an Australia charity supporting sick kids and their families. After the event, 501st deposited $10,593.40. BrisBricks is proud to be part of events like this. Darth Vader and his Stormtroopers may be part of the dark side in the Star Wars universe, but the fascination it brings to kids and adults around the world means that these bad guys are excellent for fundraising; hence the motto often used by 501st: “Bad Guys Doing Good”. All good things will eventually come to an end. It may be the case for the Stormtrooper days too. For 501st to facilitate the arrangement between Dreamworld and Disney, it has lately been increasingly difficult. Alternatives are being considered so we might hopefully see another gathering of Stromtroopers in the region in 2019. Please remember to follow the blog by clicking the "Follow" button on the Blog main page for more great articles.

We all still like to remember the ComicCon 2017, which took place after the organizational takeover of the friends of the Bricking Bavaria in Stuttgart for the second time. Encouraging feedback on the part of the fair management and of course the partly colorful costumed (!) Audience have prompted us to risk a new edition in a unique atmosphere, this year on 30.6 and 01.07.2018, 10 to 18 clock in the Hall 1 of the Stuttgart Trade Fair. This time we have an amazing 1,600 square meters of space available, and there are only a few corners free. Forgiven or firmly reserved are already large areas for - The moonbase landscape. A standard established a few years ago allows interested parties to contribute their own modules and put them together on site into a gigantic system - bigger than any one could ever put into the living room, and to the delight of the audience! - Under the banner of RogueBricks.com, there will be lots of young, talented MOCcers who will once again be captivating us with their breathtaking creations from the fantasy, star wars, film and comics sectors. - The Balrog-Fortress - that's where connoisseurs are already flicking their tongues and will be curious what all of the details can be accommodated on an enclosed area of five by three by two meters. We can reveal: Lots! - The city of Ardas with the subject "Middle Ages". You can see them in the state of war and with a port facility running to the smallest detail. No big art, if you have four by six meters of surface available! - Asian then it's with the theme "Ninja": "A temple complex and a school on the edge of the forest" is the name of the application. We keep free for just under two and a half meters square - and are very curious how this ensemble will arrive. - A LEGO Technic Workshop. - A LEGO Ninja Action Area. - A tracked racer area. This is the little green and white remote controlled car that makes you happy with its powerful engine and low weight. A demanding course requires skill and skill. - Numerous hands-on games - among other things, will be held for the first time among the exhibitors of the Cathedral Contest. This is a board game that is made of wood in the original and now in many LEGO versions a fresh spring experienced - and in the middle of summer! To make it not only a feast for the eyes, but also for the smartphones, this time we have set up a few photo points: A weapon stand with sword, morning star, halberd and spear invites you to pose - needless to say, of course, everything is built from LEGO , In addition, we pour plenty of LEGO bricks on the big tables and leave the rest of the imagination of the big and small builders. Many a family already forgot time and space when digging in the stones and surprised us with many a bizarre work of art. For exhibitors, coffee and water are available in a generous backstage area during opening hours. At the obligatory AFOL evening there are not only prizes to be won, but also a thank-you-set for coming. If you want to participate, you should decide soon, because there are only a few places left.

LEGO® model exhibition and Comic Con Germany is going into its second round on July 1st and 2nd. Stuttgart will once again host detailed displays of the Pod Racer Finale and the Ghostbuster Headquarter: Highly enthusiastic LEGO® fans will present their work at this great fan gathering in Germany. Comic and Fantasy is the keyword for this summer weekend and LEGO® fans will give you a lot to view. Apart from Star Wars they will present displays known from video games and scenes from the world of drawings. This area is not only for grown-ups, kids will have even more fun. The Kids Area will be new in 2017: Our little guests will get an area to build their own displays with more than 18,000 green LEGO® bricks and DUPLO® bricks. Of course, Minecraft can be built as well. Schwabenstein 2x4 e.V. is the first LEGO® club which is charitable and they are located in Stuttgart. We are looking forward to discovering the displays in Stuttgart and we want to thank Bricking Bavaria e.V. for trusting us to organize this exhibition under our name. Infos about our club www.schwabenstein.com.
  13. So it's that day! It's May 4th which could mean a lot to your or potentially less if you are not a Star Wars fan. But these days, who isn't? right? RIGHT? I know I am and it's what brought me back to the LEGO brand that one day in 1999 when I walked past a toy store and saw the new superawesome LEGO Star Wars X-Wing Fighter in the window. Almost 20 years later and probably around 500 sets richer (or poorer if you ask my better half) I am still a big fan of Star Wars and especially LEGO Star Wars. I've stopped the "buying one of each" approach and now it's mostly the UCS and Classic Trilogy sets. Those upcoming constraction sets look pretty awesome and I'll clearly "need" a few of them as soon as they are available. I'm already building the "new" Snowspeeder at home and I'm liking it. I trust You'll all have a blast at the AFOL shopping day that perfectly aligns with the "May The 4th Be With You" this year. Han Shot First and you can never have too much LEGO Star Wars! /kim
