  5. Hi @Jan Beyer One of our members today asked if there is a backup or reserve list for this sold out event, as by coincidence he's going to be in LEGO house that day.

April’s meeting is going to be a good one - we have Belgian AFOL Kathy coming along to talk us through her LEGO models inspired by Roman history. Venue is in Newcastle quayside - there’s a big multi-storey car park nearby, and it’s a 5/10 minute walk from Central Station (and/or Manors on the Metro). Sunday market will be on, so access by car is slightly restricted - best to come via Milk Market route if you want to park. Quayside buses pass close to the venue: https://www.gonortheast.co.uk/search/?q=quaylink&submit—Romans in LEGO ... Making history fun!Kathy is a Roman archaeologist, Tom is an information security officer (but classical philologist by education) and their son Andreas is interested ininformation technology, games and his girlfriend. Together they are Familia Brickia, a family project to express Roman culture, history and mythology in LEGO. They have created an exhibition that has been shown in several Belgian museums (this year also in France), with a large central display and several smaller and bigger displays, such as a Roman villa on minifig scale and a 60cm high statue of the Roman legionnaire of the Collectible Minifig Series 6. During the presentation Kathy will explain the LEGO displays in relation to their archaeological backgrounds ... a nice mixture of history and fun!
