The past weekend I visited together with Stuart Harris (Senior Designer, LEGO House) as well as Nico Vás (Senior Designer, The LEGO Movie 2) the AFOL Networking Event Bricks Cascade which happened in Portland, OR, USA for the 8th time.
The event was held at Oregon Convention Center and around 380 AFOLs from the US and Canada were participating and welcoming around 8.000 public visitors.
Many games, presentations and activities were planned and organized for the participating AFOLs and it looked like all had a great time.
Stuart and Nico each did very well attended presentations (about the LEGO House and the design process of the set #70825) and we all 3 together did a Q&A for all participants. In addition, Nico was organizing a creative build with the Queen Watevra’s Build Whatever box for 100 participants.
Also, an AFOL Networking Event organizers meeting as well as a LAN Ambassador meeting was held, and we discussed many interesting topics and exchanged great ideas.
A lot of super cool MOCs were shown at the event which really impressed all participants as well as the public visitors.
It was a great event and I can strongly recommend joining it next year – thank you very much to the steering group around Bob Day, Jeff Bergquist and Bruce Cruikshank as well as all supporters, theme coordinators and participants for making this fantastic event happen – I enjoyed it very much.
