  • LAN Town Hall - Fall 2022

    Jordan P

Twice a year members of AFOL Engagement host a LAN Town Hall to talk to members of Recognized Community and share updates, challenges, and achievements. The goal is to provide a look back and a look forward to what is happening behind the scenes. It is a casual conversation with multiple presenters and a Q&A at the end. We would like to thank our special guest Jason Whiting who is Head of the LEGO VIP Program.

Whether you are part of a Recognized Community or not, we hope you enjoy the content and get a better understanding of some of the exciting things happening behind the curtain. If you have any questions, please post them below.

    53:56 – Q&A

    • 54:00 Q: For things like screenshots of the LAN or creating content out of the LAN town hall. How does that fit in the community guidelines?
      • A: There is a distinction between “rules” and “community guidelines”. Community Guidelines are for behavior on the platform
    • 1:00:00 Q: The numbers of entries in each review period on LEGO IDEAs has increased tremendously. Has the team considered chancing the criteria
      • A: It has been considered. The team is exploring potential solutions. The team in not in a state where they can communicate any potential changes
    • 1:01:57 Q: Certain VIP perks are not available in specific countries. Is there a reason some regions are excluded?
      • A: The team that makes those decisions was not present, further investigation required.
    • 1:03:22 Q: Certain VIP redeemable items such as a coins have limited availability but are intended to be a set. People are forgoing starting to collect them due to the possibility they will be unable to complete the collection due to limited quantities. Could such items potentially be made available as a single redemption set of coins?
      • A: The team is trying to better forecast demand of collectables. Ability to fill in the gaps is something the team will look into.
    • 1:10:35 Q: Is there potential to have the chance to have multiple VIP redeems in a single order?
      • A: There is currently a technical limitation that limits the redemptions, there is a goal to update the system to allow for multiple redemptions per order. There is also a possibility items may be bundled into a single redemption
    • 1:12:25 Q: Can we get more info on this “subscription service” model LEGO is considering. Is there an opportunity for community input?
      • A: There are lots of options being evaluated and lots of beta-testing. Before final decisions are made, there will be additional input requested and testing.
