  • Happy Black History Month

    Jordan P

In some regions, today is the beginning of Black History Month. It is a time of support, education, awareness and celebration. The recognition of this holiday also highlights the importance in understanding the value of diversity and the opportunity to reflect on representation. It is the growing diversity within the AFOL community that helps to inspire through the unique talents and gifts that different cultures, perspectives and life experiences bring.

To the AFOL communities, we encourage you to ensure that less represented AFOLs feel welcome and seen. Being seen through representation at events, activities, and even in MOCs can inspire and help share this amazing passion with those that might not feel included or welcomed to participate and possibly join the hobby.

With that we encourage you to celebrate Black History Month and help black AFOLs and future black AFOLs feel included, welcomed and seen!

Excellent post @Jordan Paxton and very interesting article.😊
As LEGO celebrates and sustains black creators, my brother Daniele and I have black, white, yellow, black, and black support.
Every Member of FOTOGRAFIA COSTRUTTIVA is on the same level as everyone.
Even the smallest to the largest in the community are all equally important.
The consideration of everyone is important, so everyone feels involved, appreciated and participate more willingly in the activities of the Group.
In FOTOGRAFIA COSTRUTTIVA there is no black and white between people; black and white we use only in photography.
By doing so the community grows well and strong and everyone feels at home, bringing not their own diversity, but their own culture, experience and advice!
We are very happy to have people from all over the world in the community as well.
Over the years the Group that I had the good fortune to create and that is still recognized today has really become as I titled it: CONSTRUCTIVE.
...and let us remember that it is only by chance that we were born where we were born.

As a migrant in our community, this topic is also very important.

It's fantastic to see The LEGO Group do this for Black History Month 👏

At Tips&Bricks we have done two posts to celebrate the month:
    1. An interview with former LEGO Masters contestants Rich and Dave on their Awesome Black Creativity project: https://www.instagram.com/p/CaM_EBUhULr/
    2. An infographic post sharing builds from the Ideas contest, community member builds that have a social justice impact and Black creators to follow: https://www.instagram.com/p/Cac4Y0uIB6G/
