  • February LAN Town Hall

    Jordan P

Yesterday, @Sara Skahill hosted the first LAN Town Hall of 2024. The LAN Town Hall is designed for our team to directly communicate with members of recognized community to share updates, challenges, and achievements. The goal is to provide a look back and a look forward to what is happening behind the scenes. It is a casual conversation with multiple presenters and a Q&A at the end.

We are excited that Jose Pereira Junior was able to share the org chart, helping to show the many teams that are helping to celebrate and highlight the AFOL experience. We also appreciate Fenella Charity speaking around her journey with the LEGO Group and the LEGO Friends theme for the past 16 years.  We also appreciate our other guest speakers, Mike Ganderton, from the LEGO House and Tanja Friberg from BrickLink.

Also, a big thank you to @Sara Skahill for putting together such a great LAN Town Hall.

Whether you are part of a recognized community or not, we hope you enjoy the LAN Town Hal and get a better understanding of some of the things happening behind the scenes.

just sitting listening to the presentation and have a couple of notes - the slide "foster the builders of today to inspire the builders of tomorrow" - this would be a great image to be allowed to reproduce in poster format for at events, the next slide was also awesome and would be great reproduced as a poster alongside project support when presented to the public! @Jordan Paxton

The Bricklink presenter, Tanja, had mentioned she would follow up with information about the part variation consolidation.  I've had several LUG members ask about this after watching the VOD.  I don't know how she was planning on following up, but does the AFOLET have any information she's passed along?  I think people may be looking for the reason behind the decision to consolidate, something they haven't been able to find on the BL forums or blogs.

This was very informative, thank you.  I found the Friends presentation particularly helpful as we are planning a large-scale colab for our convention in September.
