Looks like a great event! What types of contests/activities/etc did you have? We're always looking for new ideas to bring to our annual Mid Island Brick Fest.

Krista- we ran a similar variant of the scavenger hunt from years past, where we have a "secret code" that guests decipher by locating the letters within the different exhibits/mocs around the show. These letters are located on a flag that's being held by a minifigure. We find this one is a real hit with the general public, especially kids.

Other than that we had a "guess the number of minifigure heads in the jar" activity and a plinko board with small prizes.

Internally, our event co-sponsor held a raffle on the original imperial star destroyer set which they provided as a prize. The proceeds went toward our LUG to help cover some upcoming events and activities.

As always feel free to DM me if you'd like to discuss more!

We tried different scavenger hunt challenges over the years.  People always come back to the two they want to do the most, spot the minifigs (all Chewbaccas, spacemen, etc) and figure out how long it takes for a  ball to complete the GBC loop.

Thanks @Matthew Zwicker! We have done various versions of a scavenger hunt as well, including the "crack the code" one as it's own event in a local mall. They are indeed very popular.

@Asko Feldmann I love the GBC idea! Our club has been talking about learning GBC for some time but we don't have any GBC experts and few people with decent Technic element collections or balls, so it never seems to get off the ground. When we do get to that point we will be sure to incorporate the public in a guessing game as you have suggested!

Just go for it.  Start by browsing planet gbc and watching videos for ideas.  Plus Hugh should be up to the challenge.  I had someone come up to me at Bricks in the Six and say, sure all the builds are nice.  But far and away GBC was the best display there.

That's a great idea! I will be sure to reach out to Hugh!
