SeaLUG tower building competition

SeaLUG tower building competition

After having initially planned to use our 90th Anniversary brick to build a big SeaLUG logo but having found no one with the free time to design and build such a beast, we decided instead to use it for a fun building game for the group.  In our August 2023 meeting, we divided into teams of 4 to build towers.  Each team could only take a single pick-a-brick cup's worth of parts from the central boxes at a time, and each part had to be attached to their build before they could run for more bricks.  Teams were free to move and adjust their builds as they chose up to a height of 12 inches, after which the towers had to remain fixed, and any tower that collapsed was removed from contention.  Building would continue until all the bricks were used, or only a single tower remained standing, whichever happened first.  The highest tower left standing would be declared the winner.

The result was a fun game, with great participation, which got people lying on the grass and building like kids with a new set.
