About Us
Largest German speaking AFOL community with more than 90.000 registered forum accounts and over 650 paying members.
The community acts across Germany and has members from many other European countries.
1000steine was founded in 1999 when there were little possibilities to buy individual LEGO elements anywhere in Germany. Thus the initial intention was to offer LEGO elements in larger quantities to LEGO enthusiasts. In 2000 the first German speaking LEGO forum was integrated and thus 1000steine.de evolved to be the largest German speaking community for Adult Fans of LEGO.
Every month the MOC of the Month is elected by all visitors, there is a market place for members to buy and sell LEGO, a LEGO elements shop and a large archive of all MOCs ever presented. Besides many forum sections there are also open and closed groups which form interest groups (e.g. Monorail) or organize local events (e.g. meetings, evening events etc.). 1000steine runs the 1000steine Insel event every two years on the German holiday resort island Langeoog, in the past together with Steinstark e.V. the Steinstark event, with LauterSteine e.V. the Lauter1000steine event and some smaller events. 1000steine members participate in events all over Germany and Europe!
There are set reviews and various contests on regular basis in addition to the monthly MDM = MOC of the month contest.
Furthermore until 2015 on 1000steine all images of the brickset database have been hosted for free.
